Practicing your footwork isn’t the most exciting aspect of Tennis, but it can improve the way that you play. Adding more footwork focused drills to your warm-up routine is a good way to prepare your body for the match ahead.
To practice your footwork, do drills that mirror how you move in a match. For example, if you usually jog around the court as a warm-up, try jumping rope instead. You’ll rarely have to jog in a tennis match, so it doesn’t benefit you to jog in the warm-up. But you will end up having to jump up to go after a ball which is why jumping rope is the better option.
