Rush Play

We all know at least one player who plays like a wall. They return everything. But the ball has no pace. Every ball comes back to mid court. Their strategy is hit-and-hope.

They are waiting for you to make a mistake. If you don’t, the match never ends. You get tired. You get bored. You go for the winner and end up losing. These matches take 30 minutes to play just 3 games. And you end up losing 7-5, 7-6 and you’re miserable.

There’s a way to take back control of these matches. You have to play Rush Tennis. You’re playing against the clock, not them. Move in on every single ball. Force them to open up the court and THEN go for the high percentage winner.

And when you get lobbed, knowing whether to play the overhead smash or volley is key. Watch the video for an easy checkpoint on deciding how to handle the high ball.
