Anticipate a Late Reaction

While you’re transitioning in for a volley, learn to anticipate a late reaction from your opponent.

When you rally cross-court with your opponent, you know the area the ball will come back to is the opposite side you just hit from. For instance, if you hit the ball to your left side, you know the ball will come back to your right side.

Before you’re done hitting the first ball, you should already be in position to hit the next one. If you don’t start thinking ahead, and you wait to see what the ball is going to do, you’ll already be too late.

Prepare for what you want next and you can produce a late ball from your opponent.
